Hi Ladies - The next meeting falls on a long weekend. Suggestions? Change the date? Keep it as is? Discuss... :o)

To REVIEW what we had discussed @ the last meeting:
1. We are reading A Student of Weather by Elizabeth Hay. We will meet at my place near the end of July. I hope that the weather will cooperate & we can hang out on my deck. I offered to supply coffee, beer, & wine and others had suggested bringing appetizers or desserts. As for the date = I was going to pick a few possible dates & we could vote as we did last month. Please vote (to the left) for all the dates you could attend. As before, the date with the highest % will be our meeting date. If you have any trouble voting, email me so we can fix it.
***the book is DUE on July 30th. If we pick July 31st or Aug 1st -we will all need to return the book to Adrienne before the due date inorder to avoid LARGE library fines.
2. We decided to skip an official Aug meeting & meet again on Sept 11. We will be discussing Lawrence Hill's The Book of Negroes. We will not be getting a book club bag from the library this time. You can purchase the book (on sale at Costco for $14.99) borrow from library, friends, or others. By meeting in Sept, we will have more time to read this book. If you have a copy & have read it, maybe you could email the group if you are willing to lend it out?
PS I have finished the Student of the Weather – let me know if anyone needs a copy to read.

Hi everyone!
Our next get-together falls on Friday, May 8th at 7 pm, and the name of the book we are reading is Fingersmith by Sarah Waters. I don't know about all of you, but I'm hooked so far! We hadn't picked a place yet, but Jacqueline suggested we try a Mongolian Grill type place at Beacon Hill shopping area. (What was the name of it again, Jacqueline? I looked on the Beacon Hill website and couldn't find it.) Let me know what you think and I'll check in for numbers closer to that date so we can make a reservation. Also, is anyone interested in picking up the book club bag for next month? If not, I don't mind doing it.
I was also thinking we might want to re-discuss what night of the week works for everyone when we meet. Fridays are fun but also busy and noisy at restaurants, so if another day of the week works for everyone we might want to consider switching. Someone please help me remember to actually talk about this! Tear that glass of wine out of my hand and force me to zip it and focus for a few seconds.
You should be able to post your comments below, and if you have trouble doing so, talk to either Kelly or I.

The Lovely Bones Movie
The movie's release date is Dec 11th, 2009. The producer & director is Peter Jackson of Lord of the Rings fame. I'm excited!
